Xbox Game Pass gets new quirky, gorgeous-looking Day One launch title

As one great Xbox Day One title departs exclusivity today when Grounded makes its way to Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation, the oddly named Harold Halibut lands on Microsoft’s subscription service today.
Don’t be put off by the name being a bit leftfield though, Harold Halibut is a handmade narrative game about friendship and life on a city-sized spaceship submerged in an alien ocean and it looks stunning.
Using a unique stop-motion aesthetic that is quite unlike anything much we have seen before the game’s light puzzle aspects are set to charm anybody looking for a slightly less stressful gaming experience than say Helldivers 2.
Harold and his fellow characters have all been sculpted using traditional model-making techniques and this lends HH a look that you want to watch more of even aside from the engaging storyline. It looks that good.
If you are a fan of quirky adventure games this is one you will definitely be trying, it can be a little frustrating with a lot of back and forth to complete tasks but the claymation-style animation takes away some of the chore.
You can check out Harold Halibut on Game Pass today or it goes live on Steam in an hour or so.
Harold Halibut features
Harold Halibut will be unlike most things you have played before, certainly in terms of looks, but what else does it include?

Unique Stop-Motion Aesthetics: Every element in Harold Halibut is a tactile and meticulously hand-crafted using traditional sculpting and model-making techniques.
Full Voice Acting: All of the Fedoras’ wonderful inhabitants come to life with full English voiceover, elevating the game’s narrative to cinematic proportions.
An expansive Character Ensemble: Meet a variety of unique characters and get to know their personalities, quirks and stories through meaningful conversations.
A riveting cinematic storyline: Journey through a captivating narrative, underscored by a carefully orchestrated script that blends drama, humor, and suspense.

World of Warcraft: The War Within beta sign-ups now open

You can now sign up for beta access to World of Warcraft: The War Within, offering the chance to play the game ahead of release.
Announced during 2023’s BlizzCon in November, World of Warcraft: The War Within is a new subterranean expansion for the franchise. It will be the first installment in a new three-part Worldsoul Saga, released over the next few years.
Players will be able to journey into the heart of Azeroth to explore new underground kingdoms, including ancient cultures that are new to fans of the franchise, such as the new Allied race of the Earthen Dwarves and the Nerubians of Azj-Kahet.
Other upcoming features include stripped-back modes for between one and five players dubbed Delves, Warbands that allow players to share their bank and reputation among their alts, new flight possibilities for winged mounts, updated dungeons and raids, fresh Hero Talents, and more.
How to sign up for World of Warcraft: The War Within’s beta access
World of Warcraft: The War Within is expected to come out between August and October this year, but beta sign-ups are now open, offering the chance for a lucky few to play the game early. It’s worth noting that the nature of beta access means that it might have a few bugs and glitches to work through but it’s still an exciting opportunity to play a part in the release of a new game update.
Interested parties can now sign up for a chance to participate via game developer Blizzard‘s website. The company has stated that more invitations will go out regularly throughout the testing period, so even if you don’t get a positive response immediately, it sounds like there will be multiple batches of acceptances.
If selected, your Battle.net account will be automatically granted access and then you’ll need to complete the following tasks:

Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date
Run the Battle.net desktop app—it may need to update itself if you haven’t run it recently
Once Battle.net is installed and updated, select World of Warcraft from the list of games
In the Game Version drop-down menu above the Play button, choose The War Within (listed under In Development), and click Install
Allow installation to complete, click Play, and select any available Test Servers
Create a new test character or use the character copy to import your existing Dragonflight character
Enter the game and test the available content

Gamers who are up for testing out games in beta form should also keep their eyes peeled for Frostpunk 2 sign-ups, reportedly coming this month.

Dogwifhat Price Prediction: Top 3 Meme Coin WIF Hits Record 1.32B Volume With OKX Listing

Dogwifhat (WIF), the third largest memecoin in crypto and the largest on Solana, has had a volatile week alongside the wider market crash since the Israel-Iran conflict flared up.
The Dogwifhat price crashed to a new monthly low of $1.81 over the weekend, before rebounding to just over $3.14 on Monday. This recovery coincided with a record trading volume of 1.32 billion WIF that day, the highest since its launch in November 2023.

This peak in trading volume was 28% higher than the previous record of 1.04 billion WIF on March 30th, aligning with Dogwifhat’s all-time high price of $4.95.
The increased trading activity suggests strong entry by new investors and enhanced liquidity, which helps stabilize prices during market slumps.
OKX Listing Boosts WIF Price
The WIF token saw a significant bounce following OKX’s announcement that it would list WIF and MEW tokens for spot trading. This inclusion on one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges enhances WIF’s visibility and market liquidity.
Deposits for both tokens began at 10:00 AM on April 15, 2024, with WIF/USDT and MEW/USDT spot trading starting over the next two hours. Withdrawals then opened the following day. The endorsement of a well-regarded exchange like OKX typically bolsters investor confidence, likely increasing WIF’s trading volume and price.

Dogwifhat Price Prediction
Today, the WIF token is priced at just under $2.60, navigating a delicate market balance. Here’s a breakdown of what that means for potential investors:

Pivot Point: $2.90 marks a crucial juncture. Below this, the trend could flip bearish.
Resistance Levels: Investors should watch for $3.40, $3.80, and $4.30. Surpassing these could indicate strengthening momentum.
Support Levels: Significant supports are at $2.30, $1.90, and $1.60. Breaching these could signal further declines.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 39 hints at a bearish sentiment but nearing oversold conditions.
The 50-Day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) stands at $3.10, reinforcing the resistance near our pivot point.
Market Trend: The presence of a bearish engulfing candlestick pattern just below the $2.93 resistance and 50 EMA suggests potential selling pressure.
If WIF remains below $2.90, the market could see downward movements towards $2.20 or even $1.90.
Conversely, climbing above $2.90 might pivot the sentiment to bullish, attracting more buyers. Keep an eye on these levels as they will dictate the short-term direction of WIF in the market.

In his Dogwifhat price prediction video above, popular analyst Jacob Bury reviewed new Solana meme coin SLOTH.
Slothana ($SLOTH) – Next Big Meme Coin on Solana?
Slothana is quickly gaining traction within the cryptocurrency community, merging the charm of sloth-themed tokens with the efficiency of the Solana blockchain.
This emerging meme coin, crafted by a team linked to the successful Smog project, is drawing attention for its straightforward and engaging presale strategy, which emphasizes the potential for speculative gains without delving into complex tokenomics.
The initial phase of the presale was a hit, securing over 3,500 SOL (roughly $650,000) on its first day, pricing each $SLOTH at 10,000 per SOL. As the presale progressed, enthusiasm has only grown, with the total funds raised now exceeding $10 million.

With a presale countdown now added, just 13 days remain for investors to participate before Slothana officially launches.
Whether Slothana can replicate Dogwifhat’s success is yet to be seen however its live market cap at launch will be approximately 0.5% of that of $WIF, which now stands at over $2.5 billion since it flipped Pepe to become the #3 meme coin.

Adobe expands generative AI features to video editing software Premiere Pro

Adobe has expanded its library of generative AI features, bringing new capabilities to video editing software Premiere Pro.
Back in February, Adobe previewed upcoming AI tools for audio editing and now is expanding this offering to video tools, with AI coming to Premiere Pro. The upcoming update will allow users to add frames and make clips longer using generative AI, as well as add or remove objects in the background of a shot.
“We believe generative AI is the next accelerant to human creativity, and Adobe’s strategy is to give creative professionals more power and efficiency by integrating generative AI across Creative Cloud,” reads the blog post announcing the launch of the new tools. “The Premiere Pro team has been deeply engaged with the professional video community over the past year to understand how generative AI can solve real problems in their work.”
AI video editing features coming to Adobe
The first and perhaps most creatively exciting addition to the suite of tools is the generative extend feature. This allows video editors to add frames and make clips longer, using AI to ‘fill in the gaps’. It works by clicking and dragging to extend a clip for just the right length to add a transition, adding J and L cuts, and fine-tuning the pacing.
This is especially useful for gaps in audio, meaning editors can extend ‘silent’ audio clips to create ambiance and smooth out jagged audio edits.
Moving more into the visual realm, you can also add objects generated by AI, created by simple text prompts. This enables users to change landscapes, backgrounds, or even swap out props and objects entirely.
Last but not least, you can also remove unwanted objects to perfect your clips, taking post-production capabilities to new levels. Generative AI is shown removing boom mics, light stands, and logos to avoid branding concerns in the preview Adobe has offered of the features, highlighting the varied uses for the technology.
See more of Adobe’s upcoming generative AI video editing tools coming to Premiere Pro in action in the video below.

This latest foray into AI comes after Adobe launched its own image generative tool in October of last year; check out our thoughts on the tool here.

Star Wars Outlaws is going to lock one of its iconic characters behind a paywall, isn’t it?

Jabba the Hutt – what a character and one of the most memorable parts of the initial Star Wars trilogy of films (no, not just because of the whole gold bikini thing thanks). As a kid growing up watching Return of the Jedi on VHS literally every day (er, it may have been a pirate copy filmed from a camcorder in a cinema as well, sorry!) Jabba and Bib Fortuna’s interactions are ones I remember the most fondly. De Jabba Wanga was a much-said phrase in my house growing up.
Presumably, I am not alone in having the fondest memories of Jabba and his motley crew and therefore all these years on, when Star Wars Outlaws announced you would actually be able to work for Jabba in the new game a) fantastic, can’t wait and b) they were always going to monetize him behind a Season Pass paywall weren’t they?
Yes, Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws, the $70-$130 single-player game with a season pass just for you will put Jabba’s Gambit mission into its Season Pass which will cost you extra with the base game but you will get for “free” if you pay over $100 for one of the higher-tier versions of the game. De wanna wanga?
“Play the exclusive Jabba’s Gambit mission at launch. Just as Kay is putting together a crew for the Canto Bight heist, she receives a job from Jabba the Hutt himself. Turns out that ND-5 owes Jabba a debt from years ago, and he has come to collect.”
That’s how it is explained away by the blurb for the Season Pass. That’s what is going to help sell the Season Pass. It is not so much the fact that the Jabba stuff looks to be locked away to those who will/can afford to pay extra as much as the meeting that took place where it was said, “We could totally make them pay extra for that,” that sticks in the throat the most.
We live in the realms of AAAA games and being told we don’t own the games we buy anyway so tactics like these shouldn’t surprise us anymore. It is however beyond frustrating that $70 barely gets us anything other than basic content anymore.
Star Wars: Outlaws launches on August 27th – here’s everything else we know about it so far.
Update: After a bit of an outcry Ubisoft has clarified to Eurogamer that Jabba content will be available in the main game, but the Season Pass will contain an exclusive mission.
“To clarify, Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars Outlaws and will be part of the experience for everyone who purchases the game, regardless of edition,” said a Ubisoft spokesperson.
“The ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission is an optional, additional mission with the Hutt Cartel along Kay and Nix’s journey across the Outer Rim. This mission will be available to those who purchase the season pass or an edition of the game which includes the season pass.”
