Linx emerges from stealth with $33M to lock down the new security perimeter: Identity

Identity management is one of the most common fulcrums around which security breaches have pivoted in the last several years, and one of the main reasons it’s the gift that keeps on giving to malicious hackers is that it’s a nightmare for organizations to track. A security startup founded in Tel Aviv called Linx has […]

New Star Wars Outlaws gameplay footage revealed, and fans aren’t impressed

Ubisoft is gearing up for the release of Star Wars Outlaws and recently released a ten-minute gameplay video. However, responses to the video were mixed at best. Despite this, Ubisoft has confirmed that there will be no Star Wars Outlaws delay and the game will release on August 30 as planned.
The footage, revealed by IGN, shows protagonist Kay Vass making her way through a mission in the game. Making her way through a dead Sarlacc to get a pristine Sarlacc tooth, Kay is ambushed and her prize stolen. She chases after the thief and retrieves the tooth she needs to pay the Jawas to install a turret on her ship.

The reaction across several different platforms has been critical of both the graphics and the gameplay. The negative sentiment about the graphics has been so bad that IGN has pinned a comment on YouTube advising views to ensure the video is playing in high quality rather than defaulting to 420p.
However, even after issuing this warning, people remain largely unimpressed. “My video settings say ‘quality,’ so it must be something else…”  said one skeptical viewer. “So we’re gonna ignore the frame drops and San Andreas-like explosions?” queries another. Another user cut straight to the point: “Looks like an alpha version that needs at least a year to be polished.”
As well as the graphics, people are skeptical about the gameplay itself. “Very wrong for them to showcase a fetch quest,” said one user. One on a Reddit thread discussing the video said “That was holy.. painstakingly awful, the sequence of events. meme quality.” Another user was concerned about what this choice of preview says about the rest of the game, “This looks so dull. Can’t believe this is the 10 minutes they chose to market their game…how boring and slow is the rest of it??”
Will there be a Star Wars Outlaws delay? Ubisoft responds to the criticism
The backlash was so bad it made it to Ubisoft via a Bank of America analyst, who raised the issue during a conference Q&A call. The analyst asked if the response would trigger the studio to delay the release of the game, but chief financial officer Frederick Duguet had a firm response: “The game has gone gold, so the date is well confirmed for August 30.”
He added, “We’ll shortly be seeing more content of very high quality and multiple hours that will really show the depths of the open world that is a key element of the promise to enjoy the exploration of the galaxy with multiple planets, so that should bode well for the game in terms of high-quality delivery.”
The CEO, Yves Guillemot, also chimed in: “As we’ve said also for Star Wars, the level of quality of the world and the experience is really very high. We are really leveraging our engine, and I think people will love it.”
Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30.

Modder restores Reputation system to The Witcher 3

A fan has created a mod to add a reputation system to The Witcher 3. Kill civilians and act rudely and things will get a little harder for Geralt, but help people and perform quests and people will like you.
The system is divided into regions, so your behavior in-game will only impact the surrounding region. Doing a good deed in Novigrad won’t make people in Vizima like you, but it will endear you to the folks of Oxenford.
You can think of them as like Holds in Skyrim. A bounty in Riften doesn’t make for angry guards in Markarth. The regions in The Witcher 3 are as follows:

Temeria (White Orchard and Velen)
Nilfgaard (Vizima and the army camp)
Redania (Novigrad, Oxenford, and any other regions crossed the Pontar River)
Skellige (All Skellige islands)
Toussaint

What are the levels of reputation you can have?
There are five levels your reputation can be at, on a scale of 0 to 100. You start out each region at reputation 50, which is completely neutral.

Hated: 0 – 15
Disliked: 15 – 40
Neutral: 40 – 60
Liked: 60 – 80
Respected: 80 – 100

What does each reputation level do?
Geralt’s reputation will primarily impact the nation’s economy. Prices will be higher if your disliked and lower if you’re liked, and you’ll also be able to sell things for a better price if people like you.
The full effects are:

Hated: +30% buying price, -70% selling price, -20% bargain multiplier, -50% bet multiplier
Disliked: +15% buying price, -15% selling price, -10% bargain multiplier, -25% bet multiplier
Neutral: no difference – vanilla game prices and multipliers
Liked: -15% buying price, +15% selling price, +10% bargain multiplier, +50% bet multiplier
Respected: -30% buying price, +30% selling price, +20% bargain multiplier, +100% bet multiplier

What causes your reputation to change?

Completing quests – depending on the size of the quest and your choices, completing quests can cause you to either gain or lose reputation
Monster hunts – completing contracts will increase reputation
Racing and fighting – winning horse and boat races and any brawls will increase reputation
Place of interest – some place of interest events will gain/lose reputation depending on how they affect local communities
Stealing – will decrease reputation
Fighting guards – will decrease reputation – even more so if you kill them
Performing offensive actions in front of guards – punching a civilian for example, will decrease reputation

Modder ‘FreakVIp’ has supposedly added the system to replace one that was cut by CD Projekt Red during development. We have reached out to CDPR for comment.
Get The Witcher 3 Reputation System mod from NexusMods, available on PC only. The developer has been highly responsive to requests and has already released several versions to make the Reputation mod compatible with other existing economy mods, as well as several language options.
And if you can’t wait for the next installment in the series, check out everything we know about The Witcher 4.

Meet the guy who built a motion simulator to play Mechwarrior 5 in VR so he could feel every little stomp

The problem with YouTube is it is easy to find people who have created insanely cool projects that you want to replicate for yourself, but you have neither the time, the patience, or a partner with the level of understanding as to why putting a huge amount of ugly electronics in the front room is something that is of benefit to the entire family.
This is one such project coming out of Australia and the YouTube channel Limitless VR and Simrigs has made me jealous of what he has going on down under.
Taking 2019’s Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries- which was the first single-player Mechwarrior game since 2002, he had modded the living the daylights out of it to work, not only with his HOTAS controls but to work near flawlessness with VR and, more importantly, his sim racing motion cockpit ring.
Over the course of two videos that go into great detail about how to get the most from the set–up should you want to try something similar yourself, he managed to get it so you can feel pretty much every stomp of the mech working forward as well as every swing of the arms.
“I just can’t get over the feel of this – this feels like it is heavy. I actually feel like I am in something that is genuinely 50 tons. It feels like I am in a 50-ton mech. Oh Wow.”

The levels of excitement from the videos are next level and you can tell they are not being put on. I remember the first time I went sim racing in VR and couldn’t believe the immersion, but wiring up a racing rig to a futuristic sci-fi battle warrior and it just working after all the effort is a step beyond.
Projects such as this are where VR excels. It’s fine in games where you are just slicing through watermelons and the like but taking a game and turning it into a “real” experience is something you can achieve with no other platform.

The VR being used here is “only” a Quest 3 as well, not even a high-end sim VR headset such as the Pimax Crystal, which shows the quality of what Meta has. The real cost is in the motion platform and the sim seat, the likes of which are definitely coming down in price towards the acceptable level of cost, especially when you consider how much a decent graphics card costs these days.
The fun is in the tinkering as you can see by checking out the video. Maybe it will inspire you to do something similar. Once the divorce has gone through!

These presales cater to a diverse range of crypto enthusiasts, offering everything from Olympics-themed, play-to-earn experiences to meme coins inspired by Pepe the Frog. Each presale boasts unique utilities, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Pepe Unchained (PEPU)
Pepe Unchained is an innovative layer 2 blockchain protocol built on Ethereum, similar to Base Chain, but specifically designed for meme creation.

By leveraging the Ethereum network while providing its own dedicated blockchain, Pepe Unchained offers lower transaction fees and faster transactions.
This development is significant as it allows for the creation and hosting of meme coins on the Pepe blockchain, bridging with Ethereum for enhanced efficiency. Pepe Unchained has already raised an impressive $4.8 million during its presale phase, showcasing strong investor confidence.
With less than 2 days remaining before the next price increase, there is still an opportunity to participate in this promising project. The official launch is approaching, and this is a key moment for those interested in early involvement.
One of the standout features of Pepe Unchained is its dedicated blockchain explorer. Similar to Ethereum’s Etherscan or Solana’s Solscan, this tool allows users to dive into wallet activities, examine transactions, and perform blockchain forensics.

This capability enhances transparency and provides valuable insights into the blockchain’s operations, further solidifying Pepe Unchained’s comprehensive approach. Pepe Unchained also offers staking options, allowing participants to stake their tokens even before the presale concludes.
This feature provides an additional incentive, as it enables stakeholders to earn rewards throughout the presale period.
The combination of staking and the project’s robust infrastructure positions Pepe Unchained as a lucrative investment opportunity.
From a branding perspective, Pepe Unchained has effectively captured the essence of meme culture while establishing a serious and innovative blockchain solution.
The project’s engaging branding, featuring the iconic Pepe with a “gigabrain” persona, resonates well with the community, enhancing its appeal and potential for widespread adoption.
Pepe Unchained presents a unique and compelling investment opportunity within the meme coin space. Its layer 2 blockchain built on Ethereum, coupled with its dedicated blockchain explorer and staking rewards, makes it a standout project in the current market.

PlayDoge (PLAY)
PlayDoge (PLAY) is an exciting play-to-earn game currently in its presale phase, having already raised an impressive $5.8 million. This strong fundraising performance highlights the bullish sentiment surrounding the project.
Investors can participate using Ethereum, USDT, BNB, or even a credit card, making it accessible to a wide audience.
PlayDoge draws inspiration from the nostalgic 2D retro game adventures of the 1990s. It combines this beloved style with a Tamagotchi-inspired play-to-earn model.
For those unfamiliar with Tamagotchi, it was a popular handheld device from the 90s where players cared for a virtual pet by feeding it, taking it for walks, and playing with it.
PlayDoge revives this concept by rewarding players with cryptocurrency for keeping their virtual pets alive and well.
The potential of PlayDoge is significant, given the project’s nostalgic appeal and the proven popularity of the Tamagotchi concept, which sold over 82 million units worldwide.

The onboarding process for crypto through this game could be substantial, attracting both nostalgic gamers and crypto enthusiasts.
The meme community is also likely to embrace the idea of keeping a virtual Doge alive while earning rewards, adding to the project’s overall appeal.
PlayDoge stands out as a promising project in the P2E space. Its combination of nostalgic gameplay, a successful fundraising campaign, and a rewarding play-to-earn model positions it well for success.
The project has nailed its concept, and the potential for widespread adoption and enthusiastic community support is high. Visit playdoge.io to participate in the $PLAY token presale.
The Meme Games (MGMES)
The Meme Games project is a unique and intriguing concept that brings together various memes in a competitive race format. Participants select their preferred meme, which then competes in The Meme Games.
Success in these competitions leads to rewards, adding an engaging play-to-win element. Players choose their meme athlete, watch the competition, and if their athlete wins, they earn a 25% bonus on token purchases.
This system allows for multiple plays, increasing the chances of winning. The project stands out by offering the opportunity to support and back favorite meme coins in the current space.
The Meme Games token leaderboard is expected to feature popular memes such as PEPE, DOGE, BRETT, TURBO, and WIF. The graphics are impressive, contributing to the overall appeal of the project. The launch is scheduled for August 28th, providing a specific date for enthusiasts to look forward to.
Despite being in its early stages, with over $2000k raised so far, The Meme Games presents a promising opportunity for early entry.
Investments can be made using Ethereum, USDT, BNB, or a credit card. This early phase offers a chance to get involved at a foundational level. Join the $MGMES token presale by visiting memegamestoken.com.
Conclusion
As investor confidence returns to the cryptocurrency market, particularly in high-potential meme coin presales, projects like $PEPU, $PLAY, and $MGMES are well-positioned to capitalize on this renewed optimism.
Each project offers unique utilities, catering to diverse investor preferences. While Bitcoin’s price surge is a positive sign, meme coins often follow similar trends.
This presents a potentially lucrative opportunity to invest in these presales at lower prices, with the chance for significant gains (10x–100x) upon market launch.

Top 4 GameFi Tokens to Watch in 2024 – The Meme Games, Notcoin, Floki, and Sandbox

The GameFi sector is rapidly gaining traction, blending the thrill of gaming with the potential for high financial rewards.
Today, we’re diving into the top four GameFi coins to examine their potential for growth in 2024 and beyond.
These coins are transforming not only the gaming industry but also offering unique investment opportunities.
The Meme Games (MGMES)
The Meme Games is a top new cryptocurrency to watch. It’s inspired by the 2024 Paris Olympics and is unique in this niche. The project has already raised over $200,000 in the first few days of its presale, reaching a major milestone before the Paris Olympics start.

At the moment, you can purchase $MGMES tokens for $0.00905 each. The Meme Games has a total supply of 2.024 billion tokens, allocated to support the project’s growth and encourage long-term holding.
38% of the tokens are for the presale, 9.3% for game winnings, 10% for staking, 15% for marketing, and 20% split equally between liquidity and project funds.
The Meme Games engages investors with a unique 169-meter dash event. It features five iconic meme coin characters – Dogecoin, Pepe, Floki, Turbo, and Dogwifhat – as mascots, allowing you to choose a favorite character for a virtual sprint.
If your selected character wins, you can receive a generous 25% bonus. Each character has unique strengths and a 20% chance of winning, blending skill and luck for an engaging experience.
You can keep buying in the presale without a minimum purchase until your chosen meme character wins. Besides the dash event, The Meme Games rewards the community with a staking feature, currently offering an impressive 1,248% APY.
While this rate may decrease as more tokens are staked, it remains an attractive incentive for investors. If you stake your tokens, you face a brief seven-day lockup period after the exchange launch, while non-stakers have immediate access to their tokens.
The presale ends on September 8, 2023, coinciding with the Paralympics closing ceremony. The exchange launch follows shortly on September 10.
By aligning with the global event of summer 2024 and leveraging the viral potential of meme coins, The Meme Games is well-positioned for success. For the latest updates, visit The Meme Games presale website or follow the project on X and Telegram.

Notcoin (NOT)
The Telegram-based Notcoin token has captured attention since its introduction to the crypto market a few months ago. After a market decline, it rebounded strongly, rising over 50% in a single day.
This bullish trend has led to expectations of continued growth, with one crypto analyst predicting substantial future gains for Notcoin’s price.
Currently, Notcoin trades at $0.0156 with a market capitalization of approximately $1.62 billion, reflecting a slight decrease of 3.14% in the last 24 hours. The cryptocurrency has maintained price stability in recent weeks, and its substantial market capitalization solidifies its market position.

Notcoin is a community-driven token focused on integrating users into the Web3 ecosystem. Recent developments include a partnership with Helika, which further boosts the rapidly expanding ecosystem of crypto-backed Telegram games.
Notcoin (NOT) has exhibited substantial volatility, with recent price movements reflecting both bearish and bullish forces. The token’s price has retraced from a high of $0.0164 to its current level of $0.01562.
While Notcoin demonstrates strong recovery potential, its recent decline and mixed technical indicators suggest that investors should exercise caution. Depending on market dynamics, the token’s price could range between $0.012 and $0.05, making it a speculative investment with significant price fluctuations.
Floki (FLOKI)
According to the latest CoinMarketCap data, FLOKI has become the top Play-to-Earn cryptocurrency by market cap, overtaking Notcoin after a strong rally.

FLOKI’s rise is tied to the upcoming launch of Valhalla, its NFT metaverse game, which is the final stage in Floki’s roadmap. The mainnet version of the game, which is also the first utility product, will feature a Play-To-Earn economy, on-chain gaming mechanics, upgradeable NFTs, and an Open World.
High user demand has led Floki to release the Valhalla mobile app for iOS and Android users. The team will also launch a Chinese version of Valhalla on the mainnet to tap into China’s large gaming market.
These efforts will make Valhalla accessible to many new users and help Floki achieve its goal of becoming a well-known and widely-used cryptocurrency. On July 20, FLOKI briefly reached a market cap of $2 billion before settling at around $1.93 billion.
Floki’s marketing strategies, including sponsoring the Women’s Asia Cup Cricket 2024, aim to promote its Play-to-Earn MMORPG game, Valhalla. This partnership is expected to attract a large audience and increase FLOKI’s visibility and adoption in the market.
