Is Red Dead Redemption 1 actually coming to PC? It looks like it might be after all

We may have found a bigger leak than that in Old Trafford’s roof, but if this turns out to be true it is going to be huge.
Changes made today in the Rockstar Launcher would seem to point to the fact that Rockstar may be about to do something nobody ever thought a) was possible and b) they would and be preparing to launch the original Red Dead Redemption on PC finally.
The story goes it has never happened so far because the original code was in such a mess it was not worth the effort, but either this is a very late April Fool or somebody has sorted it out once and for all.

It looks like Rockstar is gearing up to release #RDR1 on PC. pic.twitter.com/2xMmpFIdCk

ChatGPT clean up this code for me
Tez2 posted the code on X that says “Journey across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico in Red Dead Redemption and its zombie-horror companion Undead Nightmare, no playable on PC. Experience the epic Western adventure that defined a generation.”
It looks legit, of course, it could all be made up but it looks legit. So has Rockstar finally managed it? Are we going to get a little treat as we wait for more GTA IV news? It really looks like we might.
The PS4 version of Read Dead Redemption was a huge hit and obviously, we have had to wait for for console ports to PC with HTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, but none have taken quite this long to make it as it is now some 14 years since the original came out and took the world by storm.
There is nothing more than that at this stage but you would imagine if it is actually in the launcher then it cannot be far off. We are very excited here.

New Star Citizen update Adventure Beckons introduces animals, hoverbikes, and much more

Star Citizen’s latest update, Adventure Beckons goes live today and brings, for the first time to the universe, native wildlife. More and more content from Squadron 42 is gradually being incorporated into Star Citizen and progress continues on the game that has now been in Alpha for a decade.
While Star Citizen is mainly known for its outlandish ship prices the game is actually turning into a lot of fun and with each new update, brings Chris Roberts’ vision closer to reality.
There is a huge abundance of new stuff in update 3.23 and if you want to read all the in-depth details you can catch up on them on the Roberts’ Space Industries website.
“Adventure Beckons is our most expansive patch to date, delivering on many of our commitments like Master Modes and the introduction of our first native wildlife, while continuing our rapid inclusion of content and features from Squadron 42 shown at last year’s CitizenCon” said Star Citizen Creative Director Chris Roberts. “The year is just getting started for Star Citizen, and this patch lays the foundation for much bigger plans in the works for the rest of 2024. We’re all eager to share these exciting additions that will be arriving during our upcoming Invictus Launch Week and beyond!”
What do we know about Star Citizen’s animals?
According to the press release the wild fauna in the game’s latest update is described as follows: “Meet the Wildlife, Marok, and Kopian: Life finds a way. Star Citizen’s first native animals have been added to the game, complete with bespoke behaviors fitting their evolutionary paths. Players will begin seeing the small marok bird soaring through the skies, using its proportionally enormous wingspan to travel vast distances with ease as it follows migratory fish. With the addition of humans to their habitat, they’ve been observed feeding on refuse and leftovers as well. While they present no threat to humans, the same can’t be said for the hound-like kopian. This pest creature is more than a nuisance, and brave citizens will be charged with dealing with wild packs of these hounds, just be sure to bring plenty of ammo.

Helldivers 2 players in over 170 countries still banned from buying game on Steam

Players from more than 170 countries, unable to create a PlayStation Network account, are still barred from buying Helldivers 2 on Steam for over a week after Sony reversed its decision and removed the requirement to sign up for a PSN account to play the popular sci-fi shooter.
According to PCGamesN, the developer Arrowhead’s CEO Johan Pilestedt posted a message on Discord stating that the situation “doesn’t look positive.”
The Japanese multinational conglomerate had removed Helldivers 2 from Steam in 177 countries, recently adding Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia to the list, bringing the total to 180 territories where the game is currently unavailable for purchase. Pilestedt has repeatedly stated that they are in discussions with Sony to resolve the issue.
Sony is also preparing to launch the PC version of Ghost of Tsushima. Developed by Sucker Punch, the game also requires a PSN account to use its multiplayer features, and it has been delisted in the same territories.
Pilestedt said: “So, to give an update on the three further country restrictions. It was an administrative error correction – they should have been part of the original restriction and it was noticed when the restriction was put in place for [Ghost of] Tsushima.
“While it doesn’t look positive, it is not an indication of further restrictions. The conversation on region restrictions is still ongoing and is independent of this. I have no further information. We (Arrowhead) still want the game to be available everywhere,” he added.
The game’s single-player campaign does not require a PSN account. However, PC gamers who pre-ordered the game have reported receiving automatic refunds if they reside in a country where setting up a PSN account is not possible.
Fans’ anger over Sony response
Only a week ago, Sony canceled their plans to force a mandatory link between the PlayStation Network (PSN) and Steam to play Helldivers 2. Fans even united on Reddit to undo a review bomb on the newly-released game. The post went live on May 6, gaining over 36,000 upvotes and more than 2000 comments. However, gamers have taken to social media to criticize the move, calling it “sinister.”

Just when I thought the Helldivers 2 PSN story couldn’t get worse. This Steam message started circulating.
It looks like Valve has now released any restrictions on Helldivers because they know PSN now is not needed.
But for some reason, its SONY that is keeping them restricted. pic.twitter.com/bY6fcEhTTY

The Helldivers 2 community was tricked by Sony.
Sony declared having a PSN account would be mandatory to play Helldivers 2. The community revolted and trashed the games review score to 13% positive. Sony walked it back and stated they wouldn’t be making PSN mandatory.… pic.twitter.com/3zjeWZBE7O

Pilestedt had embraced the controversy with humor, suggesting a cape design inspired by negative reviews, but it remains to be seen whether this will cause another wave of review bombing.
